Health & Safety Policy
This document provides a brief statement that sets out Envams’ general approach to health and safety.
It outlines the policy and identifies responsibilities and the process to be used to deliver against the policy. It provides the framework for setting health and safety objectives and targets to continually improve health and safety performance.
Context
Envams provides environmental assessment and management services to renewable energy developers on UK projects. These are delivered through a mix of employees and sub-consultants. Envams does not have premises; staff work principally at home, with some travel to site for surveys and to offices for meetings.
This policy was written by Envams directors, Paul Phillips and Michael Bird, based on HSE’s template.

- Provide personal protective equipment, where required;
- Consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety;

Arrangements
Risk Assessment
We will complete risk assessments for working at home and for other working locations and activities.
Through these risk assessments we will identify required personal protective equipment, training and safe working practices.
We will review risk assessments when working habits or conditions change, and in response to any need identified through a review of health and safety performance.
We will review sub-consultants’ risk assessments and ensure these meet Envams’ standards as a minimum.
Training
For any activity that a member of staff or sub-consultant (where working to Envams’ systems) is required to carry out, we will:
- Give training as identified by the risk assessments;
- Provide personal protective equipment identified as required by the risk assessments; and
- Ensure that any call-in arrangements identified as required by the risk assessments are in place.
Review and Consultation
Health and safety performance will be reviewed annually.
We will consult staff routinely on health and safety matters as they arise and formally when we review health and safety.
